For metal auto parts, product weight and packing details are essential for accurate international freight quotation. Many of our products are made from steel or other heavy materials, so actual weight is usually more important than volumetric weight. However, carton size, pallet size, packing method, and delivery route can still affect the final freight cost.
Why weight information matters
Freight companies calculate shipping cost based on weight, volume, route, service level, and handling requirements. A product with a low unit price can become expensive after freight if the item is heavy, oversized, or inefficiently packed. This is why we ask for quantity and destination before confirming the final landed price.
Packing details we review
- Single product weight and carton quantity
- Carton dimensions and gross weight
- Pallet requirement for larger shipments
- Protective packing for painted, coated, plated, or precision parts
- Labeling, barcode, logo, or private-label packaging requirements
- Mixed-SKU packing opportunities where suitable
Missing weight or carton data
Some catalog listings may not show complete weight or carton information. If weight, carton size, or packing quantity is missing, request a quote and we will verify the information before confirming freight. For custom products or revised packaging, packing data may need to be recalculated after the specification is confirmed.
Clear packing information protects both buyer and seller. It reduces the chance of freight surprises, helps estimate customs and local handling charges, and makes it easier for buyers to compare suppliers based on real landed cost.
